FOOT & ANKLE PAIN
When it comes to the ankle and foot symptoms, there are MANY different causes for pain due to the complexity of the joint.
Depending where the symptoms are in the ankle/foot are, helps me start to figure out what the causes might be. For example:
Posterior (Back) & Medial (Inside ankle):
Achilles Tendonitis
Peroneal Tendon Pain
Tibialis posterior Tendonitis
Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome
Sinus Tarsi Syndrome
Deltoid ligament Sprain
Lateral (Outside ankle) + Anterior (Top of foot):
Degenerative Changes
Ankle Impingement
Ankle joint capsule injury
Outside Ankle Sprain
Fibula Fracture
Heel and Mid foot pain (bottom of foot):
Plantar Fasciitis
Stress Fracture
Morton’s Neuroma
Inflamed Bunion
Now there is LOTS of differentials, however in clinic I tend to see frequently (in simple terms) Ankle Sprains, either on the outside or inside of the ankle, Achilles and calf pain and arch pain.
